PURPOSE:To provide a heat-sensitive recording medium which can record the information which a human being can identify, and further the information which only a machine can identify, by containing a compound which has a maximum absorption wavelength at a near infrared region and is thermally decomposed and molten at the temperature lower than the coloring temperature of the coloring material. CONSTITUTION:In a heat-sensitive recording medium containing a colorless or light-colored developing material, i.e., crystal violet lucton at a usual temperature and a coloring agent, i.e., bisphenol A and the like, thermally coloring said coloring material, said heat-sensitive recording medium is caused to contain a compound which has a maximum absorption wavelength at a near infrared region of 0.7mum or more and is thermally decomposed and molten at the temperature (preferably 60-90 deg.C) lower than the coloring temperature of said coloring material. |
