The folding garage door comprises an upper panel (1a) which pivots about its upper edge (10) and a lower panel (1b) which pivots about the lower edge (11) of the upper panel. Movement of the panels is controlled by at least one ram (4) which is attached to the frame about an axis (7) half-way up the frame. The ram is connected to a sleeve (2a) one end of which pivots about an axis (3) four-fifths the way up the frame. The other end of the sleeve houses a telescopic rod (2b) the free end of which is attached to the lower panel (1b) about an axis (5).
