PURPOSE:To constitute so that past information is not lost but is saved even if an electric power source is disconnected, and to automatically display a map and a present position of a vehicle, etc. on the map without executing initializing when restarting the operation, by using a non-volatile memory for a storage device. CONSTITUTION:A map number of a map displayed on the picture of a running display 6, position information on the map of a vehicle, bearing information relating to the advancing direction, storage information of a running locus of the vehicle, etc. are stored in a non-volatile storage device 8. In case of starting an operation again after stop of the operation of the vehicle, as soon as the electric power source switch is turned on, a signal processing device 2 reads out picture information of the map through a reproducing device 7 from a digital information storage medium 7a, by information of the map number stored in the storage device 8, sends it out to a picture information storage device 2a, and in accordance with information of a position of the vehicle, the direction and the running locus, prescribed display contents are sent out to the picture information storage device 2a, and display before stop of the operation is executed on the display 6. |
