The invention relates to a profiled rail, especially for a frame or door element or wall element of a shower partition wall, having a screw duct which has an opening extending in the longitudinal direction. A screw or the like can be inserted into such a screw duct in order to produce a connection to another profiled rail or other components. Until now, it has been attempted to keep the opening which extends in the longitudinal direction of the screw duct as small as possible in order to prevent the screw breaking out or, in addition, to prevent oblique insertion of a screw. On the other hand, during production, especially during anodising of such a profiled rail with a largely closed screw duct, difficulties arise particularly since acid residues and paint residues can stick there. Furthermore, the pressing tools required for this purpose are highly expensive to produce, the service lives achieved today often not satisfying the operating requirements. It is therefore proposed according to the invention that the opening in the screw duct have an insertion element allocated to it, at least at the ends of the profiled rails, the opening preferably being closed, and that the insertion element engage with the outer surface of the screw duct and/or with other parts, especially the side walls, of the profiled rail. <IMAGE>
