A circuit arrangement for switching a remote-controlled television receiving set with a switched-mode power supply for mains isolation on and off is known in which the power supply of the remote-control receiver is ensured via a tap on the secondary windings of the transformer of the switched-mode power supply, in standby mode. To allow the remaining operating voltages to collapse, a high load is connected during standby mode. Due to the oscillatory characteristics of the switched-mode power supply, the necessary supply voltage is only present at the tap for the supply to the remote-control receiver. To switch the set off without load in standby mode, the operating voltages of the receiver circuits are picked up from secondary windings of the line transformer as are those of the remote-control receiver and those of the deflection circuits from the switched-mode power supply. During standby mode, the synchronisation pulses of the horizontal oscillator, which is also supplied from the switched-mode power supply, are prevented from triggering the switch of the horizontal deflection stage, as a result of which there is no power consumption.
