PURPOSE:To obtain the titled device which can obtain the stable peak value of the temperature of the head, by applying pulses for keeping the temperature of the thermal head during a record stopping period and a white signal recording period, thereby keeping the temperature of the thermal head. CONSTITUTION:The temperature keeping pulses having a pulse width t0 are applied at a repetition period T, and recording pulses with a recording pulse width t1 are applied. Even when the recording is not performed, the head is driven by the pulses with the pulse width t0, and the temperature is increased to the vicinity of a temperature thetaB where heat sensitive paper is not colored. When the recording is performed, the head is driven by the pulses with the pulse width t1, the fluctuation of the peak value of the head temperature is small, and a stable printing density is obtained. |
