Long-life oxygen probe

The invention prolongs the service life of oxygen probes by means of a gas electrode which is firmly enclosed as such and during its electrical conduction by a gastight ceramic. This largely eliminates corrosion of said electrode but, surprisingly, the measurement is not adversely effected. This construction also stabilises the internal electrical resistance of the probe and also its electrical voltage. <IMAGE>
