PURPOSE:To impart guidance function to the titled apparatus, by a method wherein the map of a running scheduled region is read out from stored map information to be displayed and a report for the arrival to the place of designation is carried out in each objective point. CONSTITUTION:When a map number is indicated by an operation apparatus 9, the indicated map information is read out from a recording medium 3 through a recording medium playback apparatus 7 by a signal treating apparatus 5 to be displayed by a display apparatus 8. In the next step, the initial institution of a display mark at a starting point is carried out through the operation apparatus 9 and guidance content is read out by the signal treating apparatus 5 to be stored by RAM. When running is started, the signal treating apparatus 5 calculates the present position of a vehicle from the outputs of a distance detector 1 and a direction detector 2 to supply the same to a memory apparatus 4 and the display apparatus 8 and the display marks M1, M2, M3 of a present position, an advance direction and a moving route are displayed. When the vehicle reaches an objective point, guidance information is read out from RAM to be reported. |
