PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of manufacture by providing an optical fiber cable with a meshlike body for covering terminal parts, and drawing its tip part and covering the cable with the metallic tube. CONSTITUTION:Six element wires of optical fibers are stranded around a center steel wire 12 and a cylindrical sheath 14 made of silicone resin is provided to the periphery to form a cable body, which is then covered with the meshlike body 16 of aromatic polyamide fiber to manufacture the optical cable fiber. When this cable is used, the cable core 15 at a cable end is removed and a dummy piano wire 17 is arranged adjacently to the remaining cable core; and the free end of the meshlike body 16 is wound in a cord shape and the part is coated with an instantaneous adhesive 18 for fixation. The use of the cable 15 formed by covering the optical fiber with the meshlike body 16 allows fitting to the periphery of a traction wire end without any increase in diameter, so the efficiency of the manufacture is improved. |
