PURPOSE:To inhibit more than a specified number of papers from actually being sent to storage racks of a sorter by counting the number of the papers to be stored into the racks thereof as weighted depending on the manner they are folded. CONSTITUTION:A weighting device 14 of a monitor 10 outputs an actual number of sheet signal S3 weighted based on a paper detection signal S2 and an output signal S1 from a fold a fold state indicator 12. A counter 15 sums up the number of sheet signal S3 and outputs a sum signal S4. A comparator 17 compares the sum signal S4 with a storable number specifying signal S5 and generates a stop signal S6 when the sum reaches the storable number. A stopping device 18 receives the stop signal S6 and stops a copying machine and a sorter.
