On a heat-treatment channel for the thermosetting of yarns or the like running through this longitudinally and held tensioned, an insertion slit is necessary on one longitudinal side for the insertion of this material. To prevent cold air from entering the channel, a sealing of the slit is necessary. This sealing consists, according to the invention, of a wall which shifts upwards against resistance and which is produced from a plurality of links respectively connected to one another in an articulated manner. During the insertion of the material, the insertion device is drawn along underneath the link wall and the wall is thereby briefly displaced upwards. <IMAGE>
