PURPOSE:To make installation simple by making a reactor compact and the occupied spacing smaller by a method wherein a plurality of current limiting reactors are integrated in parallel in such a manner that positive reactance is generated between the adjacent current limiting reactors. CONSTITUTION:A changeover switch S with the antiparallel connection of SCR's and a current limiting reactor L are connected to each tap(t) of voltage regulating winding 1A in series and linked with an input terminal 2, while the other end of the winding 1A is linked with an input terminal 2'. The reactors are arranged with the terminals of the same polarity on the same side and adjacent to each other with the axial line being made identical. When a changeover switch S1 conducts and a tap t2 is selected by conducting a switch S2; S1 and S2 are simultaneously fired so that transversal current Is is generated in the order of S1-L1-L2-S2. However, the magnetic flux produced in L1, L2 has the same direction and consequently the transversal current Is is remarkably suppressed. At this time, after temporary short-circuiting, the switch S1 is cut off and only the switch S2 conducts so as to complete tap switching. For this reason, each reactor L can be made compact and the number of assembling processes can be minimized. |
