PURPOSE:To make the residence time of low grade coal on a moving grate longer so as to make the ignition easy and allow the combustion to be completed, by slanting the grate so that the latter stage of the movement of the coal is elevated, and providing coal supply means at the intermediate section. CONSTITUTION:The inclination theta of a moving grate 20 is set at 30-60 deg. and the position (B) of a coal supply port 23 is spaced 1/2A-2/3A away from a coal stopper 22. If the conditions become in the state where ignition is possible, low grade coal is supplied onto the grate 20. The coal is first moved in the direction toward the coal stopper 22, and then is carried upward with the intially supplied coal forming a lower layer under the subsequently supplied coal layer due to the movement of the grate 20, during which the combustion continues. In this case ridges 20a facilitate to deliver the coal upward. |
