PURPOSE:To prevent the vibration of the torque converter and generation of abnormal sound by a method wherein slip control is stopped by releasing a lockup clutch when judder is generated in the lockup clutch. CONSTITUTION:The slip control device is equipped with an input element 2, driven by a power source 1, and an output element 3, driven by operating oil stirred by the input element 2 while the same device is provided with a clutch control means 6, connecting the lockup clutch 5 slidingly so that the relative rotation between the input and output elements, which is detected by a slip amount detecting means 4, becomes a set value. When the generation of the judder due to the fluctuation of said relative rotation is detected by a detector 7, a slip control stopping device 8 operates the clutch control means 6 to release the lockup clutch. |
