PURPOSE:To maintain the stable photographic characteristics of a silver halide photographic sensitive material even after storage and to prevent fogging by exposing the sensitive material and developing it in the presence of an aromatic thiatellurazinium salt. CONSTITUTION:A silver halide photographic sensitive material having a photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer is exposed and developed in the presence of an aromatic thiatellurazinium salt prepd. by condensing a thiatellurazinium ring with an aromatic ring. The compound is incorporated into the sensitive material and/or added to a processing soln. In case of the sensitive material, the compound is incorporated into the photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer or other hydrophilic non-emulsion layer such as the protective layer, intermediate layer or underlayer. In case of a processing soln., the compound is added to a developing soln. and/or a processing soln. used before development and the preferred amount of the compound added is 0.05-0.5mmol per 1l processing soln. |
