PURPOSE:To provide an easily regenerable catalyst for purifying particulate by combining copper and the compound thereof and an alkali metal, zinc, cadmium, mercury and compounds thereof. CONSTITUTION:At least one selected from copper and the compound thereof (a) and at least one selected from an alkali metal, zinc, Cd, mercury and compounds thereof (b) are combined to prepare a catalyst. Copper may be monovalent or divalent and, as the compound thereof, copper oxide is most pref. As the alkali metal, there are Li, Na, K, Rb and Cs and, as the compounds of the alkali metal oxides and halides of zinc, Cd, mercury are pref. In this case, the molar ratio of the catalyst component (a) and the catalyst component (b) is 9.5/0.5-1/9, pref., 8/2-4/6. By depositing this catalyst on a particulate collector, collection of the particulate is made certain and catalytic combustion can be carried out at a lower temp. |
