The invention relates to a retaining and anti-rotation safeguard for bolts, preferably hexagonal bolts, also within a poorly accessible point that is remote from the edge, which safeguard is formed by a washer of hardened spring steel sheet, in which preferably two sheet metal ends are bent up as an anti-rotation safeguard for the bolt head and rest thereon in a positively locking manner, as well as a retaining tab in the region of the inner edge of the washer which latches into a thread pitch or circumferential groove of the bolt and surrounds the mounting hole in the sheet metal component when the bolt is pressed in, as a result of which a safeguard against loss is ensured. Furthermore, the retaining and anti-rotation safeguard has two retaining tongues in the region of the inner edge which engage into the two opposite recesses of the mounting hole in the sheet metal component, as a result of which an effective anti-rotation safeguard is produced. The particular advantage of this retaining and anti-rotation safeguard is that it consists of a single sheet-metal part, can thus be produced cost-effectively and can be used for the bolt connection of normal commercially available bolts and nuts.
