Process and device for compression moulding a moulding to form a one- or multipart pallet

The invention relates to the compression moulding of one-part pallets or of pallet foot-mouldings, the projecting foot parts of which are joined together by stringers, from vegetable fragments mixed with binders. To increase the strength of these mouldings and to avoid fractures during compression moulding and in subsequent handling, the moulding is compressed stepwise using temporally offset compression moulds (10,13,15) which are movable with respect to one another. First the top and bottom side (13,10) are pre-compressed between temporarily stationary, lateral compression moulds (15). Then the lateral surfaces (18) of the moulding are provided with embossings, whilst the moulding pressure acting on the top and bottom side (13,10) is removed. In the last operation, the top and bottom side (13,10) of the moulding are compressed to the required size, but the moulding pressure of the lateral compression moulds (15) is maintained. <IMAGE>
