PURPOSE:To facilitate the mounting of a brush in a brush holder by forming a contactor and a U-shaped spring integrally. CONSTITUTION:When a brush 10 wears and moves toward a commutator 19, a contactor 5 of a pickup 22 makes contact with the erected part of a cutting and erecting groove 21. Then, a current flows through a brush 10, the contactor 5 and a U-shaped spring 6, thereby detecting the wear of the brush 10. In this detector , since the contactor 5 is formed integrally with the spring 6, the mechanical and electrical reliability of the coupled part of the spring 6 and the contactor 5 are enhanced, thereby effectively detecting the wear of the brush 10 and facilitating the mounting of the brush in a brush holder. |
