<p>A joining/separating tape for connecting sheet materials or for separating previously bonded connection tapes from sheet materials consists of a tape of underlay material 12 on which there is attached, for example by stitching 16, at least one strip of a metal foil 14 and where the metal foil has such a thickness that an electric current which is passed through it will heat the metal foil 14 in order to soften an adhesive on a connecting tape. When the adjoining edges of the sheet material are joined together, the edges are covered with a connection tape which has an adhesive which softens when heated. A metal foil tape 14 is placed in a detachable manner under the connecting tape and is heated by an electric current in order to melt the adhesive. After cooling, the metal foil strip 14 is removed and can be used again. On separating the connecting tape from the sheet material to which it was previously bonded, a metal foil tape 14 is placed in contact with the connecting tape and heated electrically in order to soften the adhesive, after which the connecting tape can be pulled away from the sheet material and the metal foil strip can be used again. <IMAGE></p> |
