PURPOSE:To realize comfortable heating at all times by a structure wherein an infrared ray sensor to detect the existence of human body is provided at the front face of the blower type space heater and either the hot air heating or the radiant heating is selected in response to the existence of a human body. CONSTITUTION:A floor type air conditioner main body 1 is equipped with a blower 2, a heat exchanger 3 and the like therewithin and room air is sucked from suction ports 4 and turned to be hot air and then blown-off from blowoff ports 5. A radiant panel 6, within which a flat plate-shape heater 6' is provided, and the infrared ray sensor 7 to detect the existence of human body are arranged in parallel at the frontal face of said main body 1. Now, when the existence of a certain human body near the main body 1, for example, is detected, the resistance value of the infrared ray sensor 7 is decreased, resulting in losing the balance of a bridge circuit made of fixed resistances 8-10 and the resistance of the sensor 7 and consequently putting relays 12 and 13 into operation through a voltage comparator 11. As a result, the heater 6' is energized and at the same time a blower motor 2' and a heat exchanger heat source 3' are deenergized, resulting in realizing the heating by the radiant panel 6 only. |
