The invention relates to a holder for elongated luminaires. In order to mount elongated luminaires on ceilings, walls or the like, it is necessary for the elongated luminaires to be disassembled before it is possible for them to be attached at the relevant site. It is the object of the invention to provide a holder for elongated luminaires which simplifies mounting and dismounting of elongated luminaires. It is provided according to the invention that the holder has a clip part that is to be fastened to the wall or ceiling, and that a holder part corresponding to the clip part is arranged on the housing of the elongated luminaire. This solution has the advantage that it is necessary in order to mount an elongated luminaire only to fasten the clip parts to the site provided for the elongated luminaire on the ceiling or wall, onto which the housing of the elongated luminaire is clipped using the holder part assigned to the clip part.
