<p>When large open-plan offices are re-arranged, considerable re-wiring is often necessary to provide appropriate mains supplies, telephone and Telex lines. This system provides electrical services pendants at every panel intersection in a false ceiling over the office area. Each pendant pillar (5), which is attached to four ceiling support rods (17) via a fixing plate (8) and support blocks (12), has a flanged cover (2), which overlaps and supports the corners of the four adjacent ceiling panels. Each pillar is a rectangular tube with electrical connection sockets on the vertical faces. The tube is connected to the fixing plate (8), which is attached to the cover plate (2) with shock-damping springs and bolt assemblies (25,26). The wiring to the sockets is fed through co-axial holes (28,29) in the fixing and cover plates.</p> |
