A pipe coupling comprises a sleeve 1, Fig. 1, having resilient sealing rings 2 in annular grooves 3, 4, which have a cylindrical bottom 3, a side wall 7 perpendicular to the sleeve axis and an inclined side wall 8, the protruding portions of the rings 2 being rounded at 12, Fig. 2. The pipe ends may have reduced diameter portions 13 to provide abutment shoulders 15 carrying resilient rings 14 which limit the movement of the pipe into the sleeve. |
