PURPOSE:To increase the speed and to improve the accuracy for detection of position by a pulse coder, by providing plural slits of different phases to a fixed slit plate as well as sensors corresponding to those slits and increasing the number of pulses for each revolution. CONSTITUTION:The luminous fluxes passing through slits W1, W2... of a rotary disk RDC are received and detected by photosensors corresponding to slits AW, BW... of different phases of a fixed slit plate after passing through these slits AW, BW.... In such a constitution, the number of pulses which are generated and detected for each revolution of the rotary disk is increased. Thus the speed and detecting accuracy of position are improved for a pulse coder. The same effect is ensured also for a magnetic pulse coder, etc. |
