PURPOSE:To inhibit a movement in case of cutting, and to make the cutting end face sharp and homogeneous, by fit-inserting a clamping mechanism for pressing a wire rod against the wall surface and clamping it, so as to be slidable, into a guide hole of a shear die. CONSTITUTION:A wire rod S is guided by a conducting path 3 of a shear die 1 and a discharge path 4 of a cutter 2. When a push rod 15 is pushed into the inside of the shear die 1 against energizing force of a return spring 17 by a driving mechanism, the wire rod S is pressed against a cutting nib 9 of the first shear die 6, by a clamping member 13. In this case, the wire rod S is tightly clamped because the whole circumference is pinched in a closely contacting state extending over the whole width of the clamping member 13. At the same time the wire rod S is cut to prescribed length by a shearing operation of the cutter 2. In this way, the wire rod is cut sharply without causing shear droop. |
