PURPOSE:To produce a composite metallic material easily, by rotating a soft metallic material relatively while pressing the same onto the surfaces of hard metallic materials and extending the same under friction in a strong contact state. CONSTITUTION:A circular columnar soft material 3 consisting of Al is inserted between hard materials 1 and 2 consisting of, for example, stainless steel materials. The materials 1, 2 are rotated at a high speed in mutually opposite directions under exertion of pressurizing forces 4, 6 from above and below. Then, the material 3 is heated and activated by the pressurizing forces and friction and is extended in the direction of an arrow 8. The rotation is stopped quickly where the soft material is extended thoroughly, and when the pressurizing is relieved thereafter, the composite metallic material joined into one body is obtained. |
