The arrangement according to the invention for grinding down the work piece contains a foundation in the form of a carriage 8, a grinding head 1 on whose spindle 2 is secured a grinding tool 3, a hinged four-link element 7, a drive arrangement 4 for turning of the grinding tool and a pressure cylinder 5, which is designed to press the grinding tool 3 against a work piece 6. The pressure cylinder 5 is hinged to the foundation, and its movable link is hinged to one of the links of the four-link element 7. The spindle 2 of the grinding head 1 is arranged in a plane in which the hinged four-link element 7 is arranged, and connected to the drive arrangement 4 for rotation of the grinding tool by means of a telescopic universal axle 14.
