Illuminated clothing incorporates at least one electric lamp visible externally and connected to a power pack carried somewhere in the same garment. For use by highway maintenance workers etc. operating in dark or dim conditions. Pref. the lamps are electroluminescent diodes. Pref. the ends of leads supported within the garment are covered by an extra strip of fabric on the inside of the garment. Pref. a push-button switch which can be operated through the thickness of the matl. is provided for turning the light(s) on or off. Opt. the power pack is contained in a pouch on the back of the garments. The circuit may include a flasher unit to cause the lights to twinkle.
