PURPOSE:To discriminate pictures such as line drawing, gradation picture and mixed picture, by processing an original picture density signal obtained through photoelectric conversion of original picture in the unit reading size >=0.01mm.<2>. CONSTITUTION:An original 31 and a transparent original tray 32 are reciprocated toward the arrow. The light of a light source 33 is reflected on the original and irradiated on a condenser lens 35 with a mirror 34. A signal processing section 37 inputs a picture signal Se in which a light amount signal So corresponding to the original picture is photoelectrically converted by a photoelectric conversion element 36 and becomes an electric output and processes signals for picture discrimination. In this case, the photoelectric conversion is made at each unit reading size >=0.01mm.<2> of the original picture. |
