PURPOSE:To make the formation and selection of standard plates for measuring machines to be superposed on a hard base plate of which the surface represents the centerlines of roughness easy by forming said plates of conductive wire screens substituted with crests, etc. corresponding to surface roughness. CONSTITUTION:While a standard plate formed of a wire screen 1 is superposed on a hard base plate 2 of which the surface represents the centerlines of roughness, the surface roughness is measured with a surface roughness measuring electrode 3 of electric capacity type, whereby required calibration, etc. are accomplished. When the diameters 6, pitches 7, etc. of the screen 1 are adjusted, the number and density of the crests, the angles of inclination, curvatures, etc. by the contact points 4 of the crests and the troughs substituting the surface roughness are determined, and the change in electrostatic capacity is made similar to the rugged shapes, etc. of the roughness, etc. of the surfaces finished by sandblasting. With such constitution, the formation of the standard plate is easy, and the selection thereof is accomplished easily and surely. Further, it is possible to make the screen 1 correspondent with the curved surface to be measured. |
