The arrangement is intended for producing a label, e.g. for displaying meat prods., which carries the legally prescribed information as to type, composition, preparation, etc. and the price per unit weight. It uses a base, e.g. in cardboard, on which the constant, and possibly the variable information is written or printed, and an envelope in thermo-plastic foil which is heated together with the base after it has been applied around it to non-releasably seal the foil edges around the base. The variable information may be applied to the outside of the envelope by using stick-on characters, e.g. in PVC. The envelope may consist of a thermo-setting outer layer, e.g. polythene, and a thermo-plastic inner layer.
