PURPOSE:To improve the erosion resistance of the furnace port of a converter and to increase service life by coating an Ni-Cr alloy layer, a cermet layer, and a ceramic layer successively in combination on the hardware surface in the port of the converter. CONSTITUTION:First, an Ni-Cr alloy layer consisting of 50-90% Ni and the balance Cr is coated at about 0.05-0.6mm. thickness on the surface of the hardware in a furnace port consisting of cast iron or cast steel by melt spraying or the like. A cermet layer which is superior in high temp. erosion resistance to the lower layer is coated as an intermediate layer on said lower layer at about 0.05-0.6mm. thickness. A ceramic layer as a top layer is coated thereon at about 0.1-0.8mm. thickness, whereby the composite coating layers are formed. By such three-layered coatings, the metallurical reaction of the top layer is rejected and the furnace port of the converter having excellent erosion resistance is formed. |
