PURPOSE:To obtain a simple and inexpensive ink ribbon actuator by using a system in which the winding and moving operation of a ribbon and the lifting operation of the ribbon are switched to each other in connection with the normal and reverse turnings of an AC motor. CONSTITUTION:In a printer to make printing while moving a carriage mounted with a printing means in parallel with a platen, a motor M can support and turn either normally or reversely a carriage and a printer frame. There are a guider 21 holding an ink ribbon RB between paired ribbon shafts and movable to a descending portion to visualize a printing position and also to an ascending position interposed between a printing means and a platen, the first connecting means 10, 13, 26, and 27 to move the guider to upper position in connection with the normal turning of the motor M, and the second connecting means 5, 6a, 7, and 28 to move the guider to a lower position in connection with the reverse turning of the motor M. Also, a drive circuit to switch the normal and reverse turnings of the motor by printing command is provided. |
