PURPOSE:To obtain an agent for suppressing harmful microorganisms in soil, having little effect against valuable bacteria (e.g. actinomycetes) and exhibiting selective suppressive and bacteriostatic activities against harmful bacteria, especially molds, by mixing gypsum and ferrous sulfate. CONSTITUTION:Gypsum (CaSO4.2H2O) is mixed with ferrous sulfate (FeSO4.7H2 O) at a weight ratio of about 1:1. The mixture is mixed into soil at a concentration of about 0.1% to suppress harmful microorganism without lowering the fertility of the soil. |
