In a disc filter having sector-shaped filter cells which are arranged between radially extending edge strips and are covered with a filter cloth, the sector-shaped filter cells are characterised in that, with a view to the best possible detachment of the filter cake, the volume between the filter cell body and the filter cloth is as small as possible and, at predeterminable points on the filter cell surface, the filter cloth is fixed, so that the free span of the filter cloth is reduced.
