The invention relates to an independent front wheel suspension in which a support rod pivotally articulated on the vehicle acts on a transversely or obliquely running link at a distance from both its wheel-side and its body-side bearing and is pivotally connected to the latter in such a way that the link can rotate or swivel about a vertical axis running through this point of articulation, and in which the body-side end of the link is articulated on the body by way of an elastic link bearing in such a way that the wheel-side end of the link is deflectable at least approximately parallel to the vehicle's longitudinal axis under the effect of longitudinal forces acting on the vehicle wheel. <IMAGE>
