An app. was described for recycle of toxic ClO2 evolved in NaClO2 finishing or bleaching of textiles to form a concd. NaClO2 soln. The ClO2 was completely absorbed in the app. ClO2 gas 300-360 ppm fed to the bottom of gas-treating column (2) through an exhaust-pipe(1). The mixt. of H2O2 and caustic soln. was sprayed at a spray nozzle and mixed with ClO2 to give NaClO2. The NaClO2 soln. which was continuously sprayed and contacted with ClO2, was enriched by a repetitive circulation. If its concn. arrived at the limit, the mixt. was sprayed by pumps (4) and (15) and overflowed. The overflowed ClO2 was retrieved in the retrieval tank.
