A breast pad 1 for nursing mothers comprises a coherent batt 2 of non-woven fibres of which at least a proportion of the fibres, preferably a preponderant proportion, are thermoplastic, such as polyester polypropylene, the batt having been compressed and sealed to a thermoplastic film 3 such as polyvinyl chloride and moulded generally to a concave shape under conditions of heat and pressure. The pad is preferably circular in shape and has a depression 5 in the centre to accommodate a breast nipple. <IMAGE>
