PURPOSE:To attain no influence of the preceding transfer material on the succeeding picture, when forming a picture using transfer materials of different size, by providing a transfer corona discharge means for giving respectively prescribed corona discharge to width part of a transfer material and other part. CONSTITUTION:A corona wire 61a has length of about 260mm., and a corona wire 61b has length of about 40mm.. When transfer is executed to a transfer material of 297mm. in width, a high voltage DC power source 64 and 65 are set to the same voltage value, and when transfer is executed to a transfer material of 256mm. in width, the high voltage DC power source 65 is set to a lower value than that of the power source 64 to reduce a current flowing onto a drum having no transfer material. Therefore, a potential difference to be readily caused according to pressure/absence of a transfer material on the drum can be eliminated, and at the next time, for instance, even if transfer is executed to a transfer material of 297mm. in width, an uneven picture is not formed. |
