PURPOSE:To reduce the band width to a half, by transmitting Q, I signals of TV signals with SSB modulation. CONSTITUTION:A Q-channel is formed by balancedly modulating a signal from a microphone 1 with an output signal of an oscillator 8. An I-channel is formed by balancedly modulating the signal from the microphone 1 with a signal phase- shifting the output signal of the oscillator 8 by 90 deg.. The Q and I-channels are synthesized, frequency-converted and outputted from an antenna 18. Since high- frequency sound is transmitted at the Q-channel and low-frequency sound is transmitted at the I-channel, only a half the band width of the input signal from the microphone 1 is occupied. In case of reception, on contrary to the transmission, it is easily done by using a balanced modulator. |
