PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration in a recording effective area by fixing part of a recording body as a recording ineffective area where any effective electrostatic latent image is not formed, and placing this part under an area where bad influence is exerted upon the recording body when power supply is cut off. CONSTITUTION:Part of the recording body 1, i.e. a joint part 75 and its circumference are fixed as the recording ineffective area where any effective electrostatic latent image is not formed and while electric power supply is cut off, the recording body 1 is stopped where the recording ineffective area X faces a charger 4. When copying operation is held in readiness during power supply, the recording body 1 is stopped where the recording ineffective area X, and hence a picture front end part S is positioned near a transfer charger 9. With a print key, the recording body 1 starts rotating and the formation of a latent image on the recording body 1 is started once the picture front end part S reaches an exposure position 5, allowing a developing device 6 to make the latent image visible. |
