<p>PURPOSE:To unitl quite firmly the titled pipes useful for a hot water supply pipe within a short period without requiring a step for crosslinking an adhesive, by interposing a specific adhesive between the end surfaces of crosslinked polyolefin pipes, preheating them to a high temperature, and pressing the pipes toward each other. CONSTITUTION:In case where an adhesive is interposed between end surfaces of crosslinked polyolefin pipes to be joined a polyolefin adhesive that will not be substantially crosslinked by organic peroxides is used as the adhesive, the end surfaces of the crosslinked polyolefin pipes are preheated to temperatures not less than the melting point of the polyolefin adhesive or the polyolefin adhesive is preheated to temperatures lower by at most 40 deg.C than the mleting point thereof, and the crosslinked polyolefin pipes with the preheated polyolefin adhesive present on the end surfaces thereof are pressed to each other to join them.</p> |
