PURPOSE:To perform absorption alleviation of energy at the time of collision in such a way that a number of laterally notched parts are juxtaposed on one or both side wall parts of a channel shaped member which constitutes a collision energy absorptive zone of the vehicular body frame. CONSTITUTION:A pair of channel members 4, 5 are joined to a vehicular body frame 2, and a number of laterally notched parts 4d are formed on the upper and lower parts 4a, 4b of the side wall of the channel members 4. In consequence, at the time of collision, when its impact force is applied through a bumper to a collision energy absorptive zone 3 at the tip part of the vehicular body frame 2, since the energy absorptive zone 3 is weak at some positions where the notched parts 4d are present, it makes bellows-shaped transformation reqularly, by which collision energy is effectively absorbed. |
