<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a flexible sleeve improved in durability, by incorporating a preforming step wherein cord fabric cords are wound in directions opposite to each other so as to form an unvulcanized cylinder. CONSTITUTION:After a pre-step 9 such as a preparatory step is carried out, a preforming step 10 for forming a cylindrical preform is carried out. In the preforming step, the reinforcing cord fabric cords 15, 16 and rubber are for example passed through calender rolls to be rolled to have a thickness half of the whole thickness, and two thick unvulcanized sheets 19, 18 are formed wherein the reinforcing cord fabric cords 15, 16 embedded in the rubber layers 19, 18 with the cords 15, 16 deviated to one sides of the layers 19, 18. The unvulcanized sheets 19, 18 are wound on a mandrel 13 with the cords 15, 16 adjucent to each other, and thus the preforming step is completed. Then the cylindrical preform is vulcanized in molds at a vulcanization step 11, it is passed through a post-step 12 for performing surface finishing, etc. after the vulcanization, and thus the production of a flexible sleeve is completed.</p> |
