PURPOSE:To grind the external periphery and the end face simultaneously and precisely, by a method wherein a regulating wheel is brought into contact with a movable stopper by making it incline to an axis of a grinding wheel and giving a grinding feed to a work, and the movable stopper is fed in the reverse direction to the grinding feed. CONSTITUTION:The external periphery of a work W to be supported by a blade is ground by an adjusting wheel 4 and a grinding wheel 3. An axis of the adjusting wheel is inclined slightly to that of the grinding wheel and the work W is fed in an arrow A direction for grinding. The tip of the work W is brought into contact with a movable stopper 33 which is sent by a cylinder, the work W is fed in the reverse direction of the arrow A and the end face W1 is pressed against the grinding wheel 3 for grinding. A location of the end face W1 of the work is detected by a detector 8 by making use of an air nozzle and a feed per revolution of the movable stopper is controlled. |
