The invention proposes a method for determining an envelope curve (17) of a projection area which is covered by a steerable vehicle (20) when it moves through a curve, in such a manner that the outside limit (21) of the vehicle is conducted at a particular predetermined curve line (12) and the trailing curve (19) of the envelope curve (17), which points towards the inside of the curve, is measured. This results in successive pictures of the vehicle in accordance with its position when it moves through the predetermined curve (12). The trailing curve can be drawn by simply applying an envelope curve to the overlapping images of the outside vehicle dimensions pointing towards the inside of the curve.
