<p>A fiber holder to be used as a component of an optical connector in an optical fiber system. The optical connector is composed by covering and holding the vicinity of the end of the optical fiber and inserting and engaging the optical fiber withing the connector housing. The fiber holder is formed of a planar body made in a developed shape capable of enclosing the optical fiber (1) in a substantially cylindrical shape from the periphery of the coating, a fiber engaging projection is formed at a suitable position on the contacting surface of the optical fiber on the planar body, and connectors (13, 14) to be connected directly to or through other members to the housing are provided at suitable positions on the planar body in the axial direction.</p> |
