PURPOSE:To obtain metallic powder having excellent magnetic characteristics, by dipping a metallic compd. contg. iron as an essential component into a soln. of an org. silicon compd. having b.p. higher than specific temp. then heating the same in a reducing atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:A metallic compd. contg. iron as an essential component, for example, acicular gamma-Fe2O3, is put in a soln. of an org. silicon compd. having b.p. higher than 250 deg.C, and after the soln. is stirred for about 1hr, solids are sucked and filtered and are then vacuum dried. Tetraethyl silane, tetra n-propyl silane, triphenyl chlorosilane, etc. are used as an org. silicon compd. and the soln. prepd. by dissolving the same at about 0.25% with a solvent such as acetone or dioxane is used. After drying, the solids are heated in a reducing atmosphere, whereby the ferromagnetic metallic powder is obtained. |
