PURPOSE:To improve driving comfortableness and rolling resistance by reducing a buttress part and extending a thickness above that of a side wall part up to the adjacency of the tread in case of a pneumatic tyre with breadth of a tread and breadth of a tyre when filled up with internal pressure within predetermined limits. CONSTITUTION:For a pneumatic tyre with the breadth T of its tread part 4 and the breadth SW of its tyre when filled up with internal pressure in the ratio 0.55-0.65, the thickness TS of a side wall 3 is maintained up to the adjacency of a belt layer 6 and extended as far as a point Q located 8-15mm. outward from the end part of the belt layer 6. Relation between the thickness TB of the tyre at the point Q and the thickness TS of the side wall 3 is maintained as predetermined. Further, the tyre thickness from the point Q to the end point P of tread breadth is formed in a gradually and continuously increasing curve. Due to this configuration, a buttress 2 is reduced to restrain increase of strain energy, while driving, comfortableness and performance due to rolling resistance can be improved. |
